The Difference Between Educated and Intelligent
The words educated and intelligent are not synonymous regardless of how frequently they are bandy about by the former. Perhaps, the clearest illustrations of this fact in 2024 are Joy Reid and Keith Olbermann.
Both Reid and Olbermann, on-air performers pretending to be journalists, hold degrees from prestigious (?) universities, Reid from Cornell and Olbermann from Harvard. That fact tells us that Reid and Olbermann are “educated.” It does not, however, give us any indication of their intelligence. And this assertion is proven regularly by their performances.
The assassination of Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania just prior to the Republican National Convention shook the country to its core. Love him or hate him, the fact that a leading American political figure, regardless of political affiliation, could be targeted for assassination is dangerous to the political stability of the nation. The fact that Trump survived the attack was truly an act of God or at least, providence. His ear was pierced and most unfortunately, an innocent man attending Trump’s rally died from a bullet wound while trying to protect his family.
The incident, coming as it did in the midst of one of the most contentious and divisive presidential elections in American history, could have sent the nation into a full-blown civil war. It was a somber warning of how deeply divided the nation is in 2024.
Yet, Reid and Olbermann treated the attempt on Trump’s life as a failure to eliminate a man they revile. Reid insisted on seeing the doctor’s report on Trump’s wound or she would judge it a political stunt to gain sympathy from the voting public. Olbermann went even further, inferring the failure to kill this time should not deter other deranged assassins from future attempts.
And here is where the delineation between education and intelligence is seen very clearly.
While close examination reveals that neither Reid nor Olbermann are actually journalists, they operate under the umbrella of the profession. Both have a limited audience, and both are simply mouthpieces for an increasing Marxist Democratic Party. But because they operate under the umbrella of journalism, they have a responsibility to adhere to a code of conduct befitting the profession. Unfortunately, neither adheres to any apparent code of ethics.
Since both Reid and Olbermann are educated, it is safe to assume that they have some idea of the potential dangers of stoking the fires of hatred. One would hope that they have some inkling of historical context, some notion that a nation so divided, a division created and deepened by their once honorable profession, is a tinderbox that can explode at any minute. Still, they persist with their on-air tirades and rants.
Perhaps, it is unfair to single out Reid and Olbermann. The entire mainstream media complex is committed to propaganda and the avoidance of true, honest and impartial journalism. They are partisan (on every side) mouthpieces with an agenda. To find true journalists, you must dig deep into the bowels of the internet. Only there will you find people willing to do the difficult work of cutting through the political lies and double speak, willing to spend the time and effort to develop reliable and credible sources, willing to go against the tide of insipid propaganda, and provide complete and honest information on the events and people that truly impact us.
Back to Reid, Olbermann and the cadre of other pseudo journalists that populate the print and electronic media. Eschewing the sacred duty of provide audiences with honest, impartial and timely information, they have reverted to being dishonest co-conspirators in dividing the nation at a moment when true unity in required. They have forsaken the very core of their profession in order to appease those who control them. These elements have earned this disgusting group the designation of being the unabashedly corrupt, state-run mainstream media!
Back to education and intelligence. If you are educated, you likely hear or read the information distributed by the unabashedly corrupt, state-run mainstream media and you believe it. If you are intelligent, you likely hear or read the information distributed by the unabashedly corrupt, state-run mainstream media and shake your head and try to find the truth. Two plus two does not equal five, regardless of how many times you are told that it is five and you who is telling you it is five.
